A BIG thank you to all of our supporters! Update on Nintendo Nation

I just wanted to take a moment to thank those of you who have been so supportive of this little endeavor that is NintendoNation.net. When I started this, way, way back in January(har har,) my one and only purpose was to spread video game love. What began with a giveaway shtick moved to in-depth analysis videos, which changed to news, and now I feel like I just published my best game review to date. This is the culmination of a lot of hard work, sometimes stress, but ultimately, it’s been fun.

When I sit back and think about what Nintendo Nation means, or what it is, or what type of content I want it to be about, I’m a little confused with the direction. It can’t be strictly a news site, because this is a one man operation and I have a full time job, and honestly it’s really an uphill battle against more established outlets without any help. This also takes away from what I really want to be doing, which is writing informative/opinion articles and creating YouTube content.

Back to the reviews. This is something I really enjoy doing, and it’s been incredibly fun, not just reviewing games, but also getting to interact with publishers and developers, many of which have been so very generous by offering their games for review.

I also want to get back into making what I think has been my best content, Nintendo Revisionist History. If you aren’t familiar check out episode 1 here, and episode 2 here.

This type of content takes a lot of work, a lot of planning, and a lot of research, but it is something that I feel is fun and informative, and can be a good point of interest for the website going forward.

Also, I have some ideas of how the name, Nintendo Nation, can be applied better. If this is really Nintendo Nation, a gathering of like-minded individuals with similar interests, that needs to be highlighted more often. To that end, I will be posting more content from other YouTubers, (with their permission) more pictures, fan art, music, etsy projects, etc.. Unique Nintendo related content that might not show up on your daily Nintendo news sites.

So, if you are wondering why the site hasn’t been updated recently, it’s because I am in evaluation mode. Stick with me as I find a sustainable model for the hours I am capable of putting into the site right now.
